TRIPOD - A new protocol for immediate loading: Complete maxillary implant-supported prostheses

Complete maxillary implant-based bridgework is amongst the most challenging of restorative procedures. With TRIPOD, a new treatment protocol for planning and surgery, a radiographic template and a surgical guide are secured to three fixed reference points, such as natural teeth and previously placed dental implants. CT-based software enhances treatment by first validating the surgical guide, and then allowing chairside postmodification options. Open-flap surgery is initiated with sterile templates and impression trays. Implant sites are prepared with the surgical guide to a final depth with pilot drill and 2.8 mm diameter drill.
