Das EDI Journal, offizielle Mitgliederzeitschrift des BDIZ EDI – Bundesverband der implantologisch tätigen Zahnärzte in Europa e.V. Against a backdrop of political tension—characterised by the planned Statutory Health Insurance Contribution Rate Stabilisation Act (GKV-Beitragssatzstabilisierungsgesetz) and noticeable financial cuts for service providers—President Christian Berger emphasised the importance of a strong professional voice and a reliable association structure.

Southern Curriculum 2 successfully – Through team spirit to the grand final

ECJ ruling: Minimum standards for benefits for asylum seekers (C-621/24) –

The European Court of Justice ruled on 4 June 2026 (Case C-621/24) that the German cuts to benefits in so-called “Dublin cases” were contrary to EU law, as they provided only a purely physical subsistence minimum. This article presents the comprehensive and successful treatment of an 82-year-old female patient with severe, advanced bone loss in the maxilla. The treatment was carried out in several carefully planned stages and combined contemporary bone regeneration techniques with a customised implantological approach. Bone augmentation, a procedure used to restore lost alveolar bone volume, played a central role in the overall treatment concept.
